Exciting News!
We have recently performed our adaptation of The Jolly Postman. After the sell out success of the show at OSO Barnes we are looking to perform it again in more venues in 2025.
Kindling Theatre Arts created an enchanting family show for children aged 6 and under based on the beloved ‘The Jolly Postman’ books by Janet and Allan Ahlberg authors of other children’s favourites ‘Each Peach Pear Plum’ and ‘Peepo!’. Young audiences will be invited by Mother Hubbard to help the Jolly Postman deliver his letters to fairytale favourites The Three Bears, The Wicked Witch, Goldilocks and the Giant - and even have the chance to play the Jolly Postman himself! Hidden letters, letter-posting, storytelling games and arty activities abound in this this playful celebration of these children’s books much loved for generations.
Adapted and produced by Kindling Theatre which is made up of actress and director (and mums of young children) Lydia Huhne and Clemmie Reynolds:
‘We love reading the Jolly Postman books to our kids as they inspire a love of words, reading and especially writing and sending letters - almost a lost art nowadays - and the show will do the same. We hope it will also inspire a love of theatre and storytelling.’ - Clemmie and Lydia, Kindling Theatre.
By arrangement Penguin Books Ltd., a Penguin Random House company.
